Operating Platform

PolyGon uses the SAAS (Software-As-A-Service) model and works with any operating system that has a web browser.

You can use the service online (Cloud version) or within a private corporate network (On-premise version).

The software is designed to balance tasks between your device and a remote server, which runs on a powerful multi-core workstation. This server handles most of the processing, simulation, recognition, and data matching.

Users can securely access their data from anywhere in the world and perform complex data processing on lightweight client devices.

Fluid Properties

PolyGon supports:

  • Multiple PVT correlations and modified PVT correlations for black oil models.
  • Linear and nonlinear regression of existing models to achieve better fit with laboratory data.
  • External PVT models in commonly used text formats.

Relative Phase Permeabilities

PolyGon supports Corey model for two-phase relative permeabilities and three-phase relative permeabilities based on the Stone I, Stone II, and Baker models.

Data pre-processing

PolyGon includes a variety of data filtering and detrending methods:

  • Moving average
  • Median filter
  • Wavelet filter
  • Fourier filter

The sparcing module allows users to perform data point reduction for production and pressure data, with various options to control the process.

PolyGon supports both manual and automatic synchronization of production and pressure rate.

Diffusion Models

PolyGon supports a wide range of analytical diffusion models for wells, reservoirs, and boundaries:

  • Wellbore effects: constant, variable.
  • Wellbore trajectory: vertical, partially penetrating, deviated, horizontal.
  • Well-reservoir contact: mechanical skin factor, hydraulic fracturing, multi-stage hydraulic fracturing.
  • Skin factor: constant, rate-dependent, time-dependent, cumulative production dependent.
  • Reservoir: homogeneous, dual-porosity, dual-layer, radial composite, linear composite.
  • Drainage area boundaries: infinite, circular, rectangular, faults (single fault, parallel faults, intersecting faults).

PolyGon supports multiphase calculations using the Perrin method and a pseudo-linear diffusion model using pseudo-pressure/pseudo-time, enabling fast calculations on linear solvers for a wide range of nonlinear problems, particularly for gas fields.

Numerical Simulator 2D+

PolyGon includes a tool that can simulate production and pressure data in multi-layer systems with irregular grids.

The simulator supports calculations based on production rate, pressure, or a combination of both, applicable to single or multiple layers. Each layer uses a 2D PEBI grid that adjusts in depth and includes fields for effective thickness, permeability, porosity, and saturation. Various options for well paths, fractures, faults, boundary shapes, and conditions are provided.

PolyGon can handle faults of any shape, whether partially or fully impermeable, in its calculations.

The software supports advanced well completion models, such as wells with hydraulic fracturing, horizontal wells, and horizontal wells with multi-stage hydraulic fracturing.

Sensitivity analysis

PolyGon can test the sensitivity of a specific diffusion model to variations in input parameters.

Indicator Diagram Analysis

PolyGon offers a versatile tool for interpreting pressure transient analysis using indicator diagrams. This applies to both producers and injectors, including those affected by auto-hydraulic fracturing.

Singlewell deconvolution

PolyGon software supports singlewell deconvolution (SDCV) tool that calculates the transition characteristic as the pressure response to a unit rate impact based on production history and pressure data.

Multiwell Deconvolution

PolyGon features a unique MDCV engine designed to capture the transient flow rate characteristics of wells and cross-well intervals. These insights can be seamlessly interpreted through conventional pressure build-up/drawdown analysis, allowing for precise evaluation of formation parameters in cross-well zones. Moreover, this innovative engine enhances the deconvolution process, providing superior control and accuracy.

Pressure Pulse-Code Test

PolyGon includes a tool for simulating and automatically adapting bottomhole pressure response to specific production rate variations in offset wells.

This tool surpasses traditional methods for fitting cross-well responses, especially when pressure data is noisy. It expands the application range of Pulse Code Testing to include cases where production rate cycling is non-periodic and when receivers log pressure under flowing conditions.
